Solar Eclipse in Durango

I couldn’t get enough of the partial solar eclipse back in October, so I had to fly out to the middle of the Mexican desert to get my fill. There weren’t enough direct flights between Mexico City and Durango to meet demand, so my girlfriend and I had to fly all the way to Tijuana in the early morning, then fly to Druango from there. We arrived that morning totally exhausted, but we still managed to see some of the local sites: the mining museum, the Pancho Villa museum, and the charming pedestrian-only avenue that bisected the city.

The eclipse itself was totally worth it. Their splendor is notoriously difficult to catch on the average camera, but I managed to get the following time-lapse footage on my phone:

The next solar eclipse in North America is twenty years from now, so there’s plenty of time to prepare!
